CASE STUDY · WORDPRESS AND WOOCOMMERCE

A three-language online store with around 1,500 products

A new store for the Georgian market needed a large catalog, preserved categories and attributes, three connected language versions, and adapted pricing. We built the WordPress and WooCommerce website, automated the data migration, and added a custom module for managed static filter pages.

CATALOG SCALE

The migration involved much more than product cards

Products had to retain their categories, attributes, images, prices, and language relationships so the new store would work as one connected system.

THE BRIEF

A large catalog had to move into a new online store

The client already had an established product range but needed a separate store for a new market. Manually recreating around 1,500 products in three languages would take a long time and introduce many opportunities for inconsistencies.

The new store had to preserve catalog relationships, adapt pricing, and remain manageable through a familiar administration interface.

CATALOG MIGRATION

Products, categories, and attributes moved in bulk

We collected the source catalog data and prepared it for WooCommerce. The migration covered names, descriptions, categories, attributes, images, language relationships, and prices.

Before import, the data was mapped to the structure of the new store. The catalog arrived as a connected system, so products did not need to be manually redistributed after migration.

PROCESS

The catalog moved from raw data to connected language versions

The migration was staged so relationships between products, sections, and translations would remain intact.

Stage 01

Exported products, categories, attributes, and images.

Stage 02

Prepared the structure

Mapped fields and relationships to the WooCommerce model.

Stage 03

Processed language versions

Connected Georgian, English, and Russian content.

Stage 04

Adapted pricing

Prepared values for the new store.

Stage 05

Ran the bulk import

Loaded the catalog and assigned each entity to its section.

Stage 06 · now

Verified the result

Checked products, categories, attributes, and language switching.

THREE LANGUAGES

Language versions are connected within one catalog

The website runs in Georgian, English, and Russian. We configured Polylang and connected corresponding versions of pages, categories, and products.

Visitors can switch language while staying in the same section, and editors manage the versions through one system. Multilingual support was part of the architecture from the beginning rather than an add-on after the catalog was populated.

English version of the online store
All three language versions share the same catalog structure.
CUSTOM MODULE

A useful filter combination can become a standalone page

A normal filter only changes the product listing for the current visit. Some combinations of attributes have enough meaning to deserve their own page.

We built a module that creates managed static pages for selected filter combinations. Each page receives a permanent address and can be added to the website structure.

Pages are created only for combinations that are genuinely useful. The system does not publish every possible filter state automatically.

Established tools were extended with custom logic

WordPress, WooCommerce, and Polylang covered the standard requirements, while project-specific needs were handled through custom development.

A large product range became a manageable three-language store

The client received a functioning online store with a substantial catalog, connected language versions, and administrative control.

Categories, attributes, images, and prices moved together with the products. Selected filter combinations can be developed as managed standalone pages.

This case documents development and data migration. It does not claim unverified sales or SEO results.
